Reb Yankele Leizer, The Rebbe of Pshevorsk, רב יעקב מפשעווארסק זצל

Yarzheit 27th Cheshvan 5759 1998

In Memory of Reb Itzikal, Reb Yankele, and the Rebetzin (the wife of Reb Yankele) ztl who made a Beis Hamedrash (synagogue) that became more than a spiritual prayer house and home, as it was constantly open 24 hours a day to help and be of service for every kind of Jew from any background.

"Reb Yankeles home was part of the synagogue" or some would say "The Synagogue was part of Reb Yankeles home". Many people over many years were welcomed into Reb Yankeles synagogue and he made everyone feel like part of his family. Every sunday evening he gave out "knoblech" ( cloves of garlic ) with a blessing to start the week with a blessing from him to everyone who wanted. Every Jewish festival hundreds of visitors from all over the world would come, pray and celebrate the festival in his synagogue and the kitchen next to the prayer hall was always full of excellently made fresh food, and there was always a spare bed to sleep upstairs.

The Rebetzin was always listening carefully to everyones problems, praying sincerely that they would be helped from Heavens above. Every word she said was said with true motherly warmth and kindness.

Rebbe Yankele followed in his father-in-laws footsteps and in the footsteps of our forefather Abraham who took care of a persons physical needs as much as taking care and praying for ones spiritual needs. Everyone knew that receiving a blessing from Reb Itzikal and Reb Yankele was like receiving a blessing from a heavenly angel as it always came true.

"In spirit world as it is in this physical world"

As they performed miracles and listened to peoples prayers and requests in this physical world so too the souls of these Rebbes continue in the realms of the Eternal Divine Spiritual world. Hence the Ohel Tomb is large with many candles always burning. There is not greater closeness to their souls one can get in this physical world than going to the Ohel - Tomb in the Cemetary in Putte and lighting candles.

Everyone who goes, feels the indescribable feelings, the spiritual comfort and inner peace of mind, as one cries, prays and asks for DIVINE intervention in ones life. Visiting the Ohel in March 2006 was one of the most special memorable experiences of my life, i thank GOD for this and THANK the souls of Reb Yankele, Reb Itzikel and the Rebetzin for they really helped. If you dont believe me - then go and pray for yourself - you will feel exactly what i mean !
