רבי מאיר בעל הנס Rabbi Meir Baal Ha Ness He was a tanna (4th generation) and one of the main expounders of the Mishnah. His wife was the famous wise woman Beruriah. He was a descendent of converts to Torah Judaism. Rabbi Meir Bal Ha Ness - The name, Rebbe Meir, was a later name given to him which stayed ("The Illuminator"), so called because he enlightened the eyes of scholars and students in Torah law. The name, Bal Ha Ness, added to Rebbe Meir, simply means the master of miracles. Miracles were attributed to him.
