Reb Shia , was Descendant of the Famous Rabbi Shulem of Belz, and a grandson of the Premishlaner Rebbe, and Dinover Chassidim , Koznits, The Author "Degel Machane Ephraim" and hence a direct descedant of the Famous Baal Shem Tov .

The famous Story of Reb Shia, just in 1930's was told that his father received a letter from the famous Gerrer Rebbe in Poland . On the envelope the handwriting was written in Polish in fine neat writing . When Reb Shia ( still a bochur and single ) saw the handwriting he asked his father to make a shidduch with the girl who wrote the address as he could see that this girl had a Zechus - Merit from heaven that she was special . He later married her, he always told everyone that in her Zechus - Merit, they survived the war in Nazi Europe by running and hiding in the forests .

After the war , they went to live in 216 Lordship Road Stamford Hill London . It was known that Reb Shia had "Ruach Hakodesh" an ability to "know" from heavenly spirit world , many spiritual secrets .

Many people often asked him for the most appropriate name for their children , to bring the child greatest mazel in their life . (As is accepted in Kabbala that a name is exceedingly important ) .

Reb Shia Rockeach also had a famous "Reb Yaakov Emdem" Siddur which he davened from, sadly in January 2000 this siddur was stolen from a special library in Manor Rd Stamford Hill, (and not yet been found). In the margin of this siddur were special hand written notes and important numbers, full of explanations of Gematria.

It was known that Reb Shia sensed spiritual "souls" whom came close from Olam Habo. He was also very close to the Shatzer Rebbe whose Beis Hemedrash and home was on Queen Elizabeths Walk .

During the war, Reb Shia and his wife had a child, but sadly died whilst running from the Nazis . They never had any children . Nontheless they cared for so many people in their home, that even today many people remember them for the good they have done, of blessed and loving memory .
