Reb Eliezer Gordon זכרוֹנוֹ צדיק לברכה died suddenly and tragically in London whilst trying to raise money for his yeshiva in Telz, the English Jews in London did not recognise his greatness. Sadly some say he did not even raise the enough money for his return journey to Telz. The Famous Rabbi Gordon spoke just after Shabbos, out of the pain and heartache he suffered in London died, just before he did, he said that London would never ever have a successful yeshiva of pure torah learning, as the jews in England were too selfish to support true spiritual Torah learning.
